The Little List | March 25, 2021

I’m excited to bring back another version of The Little List - a collection of seven little things that have been making me happy, making me think, or making me grow this week. Hopefully they do one of those things for you too.

Here goes -

  1. This may seem silly, but something that has been bringing me a lot of joy lately is having this beautiful handmade oil cruet sitting on my counter. My sister-in-law gifted me this for Christmas last year and being able to grab it so easily while cooking just makes me feel so happy. Speaking of handmade kitchen wares, I would love to add one of these beautiful cookbook stands to my counter one day too.

  2. If you love history and true-crime, you would probably love listening to this podcast about notable (and mostly forgotten) royals throughout history. The host recounts their histories and often tragic endings in a really eloquent way. I can’t get enough! Some good ones to start with include this one (How Tycho Brahe Saw the Stars), this one (Queen Njinga’s Cleverness), and this one (From Poland With Love).

  3. Last Friday, I worked on deep cleaning one single room in our home - our master bathroom. I scrubbed everything from the shower grout lines to the baseboards and it now feels so fresh in there. I even gave this space a mini makeover in the process that I’ll be sharing about soon. My favourite cleaning products to use are this shower cleaner, this all-purpose cleaner, and this glass cleaner.

  4. I often reach for non-fiction self-development books to read, but this year I have been trying to use reading as a way to unwind, not a way to add more to my plate. I just finished reading this historical fiction based in WWII era London and am now a few chapters in to this bestseller. Despite being fiction, reading these books has really helped connect me with other people’s experiences and stories in a deeply compelling way and it has been so enjoyable.

  5. Call it the end of winter, but I have hit a wall where I feel so uninspired by the recipes I have been cooking all season long. I have been enjoying watching this show on Netflix and am excited to bring some new recipes into the rotation with the new season ahead. I’d love to try this one for breakfast one day and this one looks so easy and delicious for dinner.

  6. Speaking of shows I’m watching, my one guilty pleasure is staying up late on Monday nights to watch the new episode of HGTV’s Rock The Block. It is a next-level home decor show that has some of HGTV’s top designers competing against each other to come up with different designs for the exact same space in four identical homes. It is so fun seeing how each designer creates something so different despite starting from the exact same blank slate. This week’s episode featured the most stunning master bath design I have seen in a long time. It definitely leaves me feeling so inspired!

  7. Anyone else craving a great big sweet Easter treat? Yep, I think I’ll be making this on the weekend.

What’s on your little list this week?
