Seasons (and some Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks)

Hi friends, remember me? I know it’s been a minute since I’ve been here and I don’t even feel like I could list all the many reasons for my absence, other than to say that it’s just one of those seasons. There has been a lot going on in the life of our family over the past many months, both wonderful and terrifying. I’m not usually one to shy away from being vulnerable and sharing about our joys or our struggles, but the reality is that this season has not allowed the time to even be involved here in this space.

As I’m sure most of you know, this blog and my YouTube channel are an incredibly important creative outlet for me, but that’s about the extent of it. I also have roles as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and graphic designer. The past months have required me to prioritize those many roles over the joy I find from being a creative right here. I’m ok with that and accepted it as a season a long while ago, despite the disappointment of breaking my regular posting schedule. I know I’ll be back around here eventually, but for now, you may continue to see me pop in here or there to share the odd thought or project. I really do miss it.

For now, I thought I’d just share a few joy-giving photos from this past season. It hasn’t been all sunshine, smiles, and rainbows and we’re still very much so in it, but I’m grateful for the ways I’ve been growing lately. It reminds me that I’m never too old to change, evolve, adapt, and above all, appreciate the little things in my life. Now that the summer is nearly half-way over, I also treated myself to a few picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and figured that I’d share a little collection of a few items that caught my eye while I browsed through the other day. That round up is at the end of this post if you’re interested to see for yourself.

A new gallery wall, about the only home project I’ve been able to tackle.

It’s hard to believe our little veggie garden was once this small. I’ll need to post an updated progress shot.

A much needed personal creative project leading up to my 30th birthday, filled with so much joy and many memories.

Pure childhood joy.

Simple, quiet moments at home together.

A much needed date night full of good food.

Mabel had a weekend away and had the best time.

I spy two kitties, do you?

Madewell Stripe Strap Transport Tote // I love the pop of colour on the strap, yet the bag is neutral enough to be used season to season.
Miller Water-Resistant Chelsea Boot // I love the look of these in burgundy and they could even transition right into the winter months.
Halogen Open Front Blazer // A casual take on a classic piece. I love blazers as an option to dress up a casual outfit or to replace a usual cardigan.
Madewell Bobble Cardigan // Ok, but speaking of cardigans. How cozy does this one look?
BP. Crewneck Sweater // This sweater is a steal of a deal and comes in a few different neutral tones, making it perfect to pair with jeans.
Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote and Wristlet // This bag is like having two in one. It would be the perfect bag to use if you’re running out the door with your kids, as you could definitely throw a handful of snacks, your wallet, phone, and any other kiddo-essentials in there, no problem.
Wit & Wisdom Faux Leather Joggers // I am obsessed with these pants. They’re like an elevated trackpant that you can dress up or down, depending on your day. Just search leather joggers on Pinterest and be amazed at how versatile these can be!
Kendra Scott Grier Link Hoop Earrings // These earrings are simple, but so stylish.
Circus by Sam Edelman Layla 2 Bootie // I would love to have these boots! They would go with so many different outfits and I love the chunky heel and square toe. I love that more supportive and substantial heels are coming back in style, especially for those of us who don’t wear heels everyday.
Madewell Perfect Vintage Straight Leg Jeans // You can’t beat a good pair of jeans when the weather cools down. I love vintage-style jeans, especially in a straight leg that you could roll a little above the ankle.

Until I’m back again!
