Our Little Family (in Photographs)

I wanted to post these here to document this moment in time - this moment in our family. We had these photographs taken in early March, just five short weeks after Franny joined our family. As I publish this post, it’s already been almost five weeks since we had them taken and I can’t believe how much my girls have already changed in that short window of time. The practical side of me always puts off booking the photoshoot, reasoning that they’ll feel outdated quickly. But then the emotional side of me justifies: that’s the point.

All this to say: don’t wait. Take the photos. Capture this moment. Because if this year has taught me anything, it’s that our days will never be like this again. Each moment, day, week, and year is fleeting and like our days, we are ever-changing. Which is exactly why it’s worth capturing.

These precious photographs were taken by Katie Wideman Photo, an incredibly talented and intentional photographer who brings such a beautiful sense of emotion and artistry to her images. She also just so happens to be my sister-in-law. Be sure to check out her work on Instagram and through her website.
